Community Outreach and Service

Community service is an important and rewarding part of what we do as carvers. From time to time, our members come together to use their skills in service to others through hands-on outreach projects that make a real difference.

One of our ongoing partnerships is with the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls, where our members have crafted hand-carved walking canes for residents. Each cane is unique, made with care and respect, and presented as a small but meaningful gesture of appreciation for those who have served. In addition, we often create handmade Christmas ornaments, bringing a personal, handcrafted touch to the holiday season for veterans and staff alike.

Our outreach also extends to the broader community. Members regularly carve comfort hearts for patients at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. These small tokens are offered as symbols of care, encouragement, and human connection during difficult moments.

These projects are always enjoyable and deeply satisfying for our members. They remind us that carving is more than a craft—it’s a way to connect, to give back, and to share kindness through something made by hand.
