Join us for a carving extravaganza! Whether you’re a seasoned carver or just starting, everyone is welcome at our gatherings in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, we meet in Eau Claire to share techniques, stories, and our passion for carving.
Can’t make it on Wednesdays? No worries! Swing by our Chippewa Falls location every Thursday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm for more carving fun.
Bring your latest projects for show and tell, and immerse yourself in a supportive community of fellow artisans. Whether you’re a member or new to the carving scene, come carve with us and let your creativity flourish!
Curious how a simple block of wood becomes a striking spiral ornament? Join us on June 24th and 25th as master carver Dennis Johnson demonstrates step-by-step how to create this elegant Christmas decoration. Perfect for beginners and experienced carvers alike, this hands-on session reveals the techniques behind shaping, twisting, and finishing a beautiful spiral form. Dennis will even provide the wood blank for just $1, making it easy to jump in and try it yourself. Come learn, carve, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow woodcarvers while creating a piece you’ll be proud to display or gift this holiday season.

The West Wisconsin Wood Carvers Guild is pleased to welcome back Fred and Elaine Stenman for a four-day, all-day low relief carving workshop in August, running Thursday, August 20th through August 23rd. The Stenmans have been teaching low relief carving to our Guild for more than 20 years, and their classes are always a favorite.
Elaine will lead the instruction, with Fred assisting and offering artistic guidance throughout the workshop. They will bring an excellent selection of woods, patterns, tools, and paints for those who need them. Participants should bring their own knives, gouges, tools and—most importantly—a desire to create great art.
The workshop will once again be held at the Chippewa Falls Senior Center.
